You Believe In Magick?
For the purpose of this article we will define Magick as a Science, Art, and Worldview dealing with the harnessing of mind energy and Spiritual Forces for the purpose of willed evolution, life improvement and Spiritual development. * Magick deals with dynamic techniques that cause change, both in ourselves and in the world around us. It involves the direct experience of non-physical levels of reality and consciousness, leading inward to the True Self at the core of every human being. The methods traditionally utilized in the practice of Magick are, in many cases, the very same subjects being studied by New Age Philosophers today. Among them are the techniques of "creative visualization", psychic development, healing and divination, as well as attunement with the plant, animal and mineral kingdoms of Mother Earth. * Most adults in modern Western society have been raised to be skeptical about anything even remotely "miraculous". to most people. the word "magic" is synonymous with either "staged illusion" and/or "make-believe". To believe in Magick outside the context of story books or movies has long been held to make one's sanity suspect. Through continual programming and cultural indoctrination, many parents and teachers have painstakingly taught us that "there is no such thing as Magick or Witches". * However, the tide is now turning. The discoveries of modern particle/wave physics have now provided us with conclusive evidence that material worlds are actually "Spirit" energy in motion. Backed by this new information, bridging the realms of Spirit and Matter through the use of symbols and tools that develop the powers of our minds is no longer considered a matter for ridicule but rather, an area for legitiment investigation. * Wicca: A New Age Religion with Ancient Roots While Magick consists of a variety of techniques which are applicable regardless of one's theological beliefs and religious orientation, real success in the Magickal Arts presupposes,in most cases, a belief and faith in higher Spiritual Forces that may be called upon for life improvement. For Magickal efficiency, one needs a mind and heart open to the Universeand a willingness to experience miracles on a daily basis, in which the practitioner takesan active part as co-creator. * The Religion of Wicca encourages and supports Magickal Lifestyles. The rapid growth of Witchcraft and Neo-Paganism is evidence that many people are seeking belief systems that allow them to self actualize and understand there own personal mystical experiences. * Wicca, the modern Religion of Witchcraft, is the worship of the Great Cosmic Mother as seenin the Moon, Earth and Stars that course through the Heavens. She and her consort, the Sky Father/Horned God, protect and watch over all who invoke them. To the practitioners of Wicca, the Goddess and God and Divine Spirit are immanent in all creation. All nature and life is scared, and the Magick Circle is a temple where humans blend their will with that of the Goddess and God. * There is, in modern Witchcraft, an initiated Priestess and Priesthood competent in the useof psychic skills who continue to teach and practice the Holy Art of Magick. Every day new seekers of ancient wisdom discover books about Wicca and Magick on the shelves of New Age Bookstores and supply shops. Everyday the interest in Magick and Witchcraft grows. |
